The first W4S webinar took place and brought together industry experts, technology providers, and maritime stakeholders to discuss the real-world implementation of Wind-Assisted Ship Propulsion (WASP).
From investment drivers and implementation lessons to customer demand, CAPEX considerations,International Maritime Organization policy developments, and initiatives such as the German federal subsidy program NAMKUE, which supports successful CO₂ reduction, the discussion provided valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of scaling wind propulsion technologies based on the experience of W4S partner Sunship Schiffahrtskontor KG Reederei M. Lauterjung, as well as insights from W4S partners Econowindand and FARWIND ENERGY.
During this session we had also chance to hear directly from W4S partner Econowind on How VentoFoils work and how the contribute to windasisted shipping and maritime decarbonisation.
The interactive Q&A session generated valuable questions and interactions with the audience from Research, Shipping Companies and Technology Providers.
