From Innovation to Training: Wind4Shipping on Terschelling

The Wind4Shipping (W4S) project recently gathered on Terschelling for a productive meeting hosted at the Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz. The meeting highlighted that the W4S project is not only focused on scaling up wind propulsion technologies for the maritime sector, but also on developing comprehensive training programmes to support their successful implementation.

One of the key objectives of the project is to prepare professionals across the maritime industry including seafarers, nautical personnel, designers, and naval architects and more for working with innovative wind-assisted propulsion systems.

During the session, project partners exchanged knowledge and explored practical applications of WASP systems through simulator demonstrations. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss ongoing developments, strengthen collaboration, and share insights on the future of sustainable shipping.

Check out the video below and take a closer look at the activities on Terschelling and features perspectives from several project partners involved in the W4S initiative.
